For 30+ years #RustyHevelin ran the original #PulpCon here in #DaytonOhio. Collectors visited us annually. Now, we've essentially run out of #PulpMagazines & the evolved #PulpFest has moved to PA. I miss the books & their fans.

#Pulps are fragile & difficult to find in any condition. Perhaps we let some go too easily...

I learn something new almost every day.
Today: "I, Robot" was published in Amazing Stories in 1939 - By Eando Binder - and was a story about a Robot named Adam Link.

Now, I've seen some part of the Adam Link stories from The Outerlimits.

What I didn't know the more famous "I, Robot" by Asimov was more of an Anthology. And Asimov was inspired by The original "I, Robot"/Adam Link stories.

The bottom line, of course, is that partially clothed, conventionally beautiful, non-threatening women sold magazines and books to their intended audience. As the audiences for #sciencefiction have diversified, this kind of image has become extremely complex. In my search for these images, for example, I discovered that they’re being remixed as transgender/gender-fluid memes, using the chrysalis metaphor.
