This new year I resolved to stop drinking. Not gonna lie, it's harder than I thought - I have a massive headache, my lips are cracked, my eyes hurt when I blink, I last peed two days ago and my kidneys are screaming at me.

I feel my family is being unsupportive, with all the crying and the "Please Papa, just a sip of water." No. This is the price of sticking to your resolutions. Don't let others bring you down. You too can achieve your dreams.

TLDR: adopt, dont shop.

The dog on the left is named Brent. Dog on right is our dog, Casey (Jones). Brent stopped by for a temporary stay at back at Halloween. He had been in a shelter(caged) in Mississippi for a long time and was quite a mess. Previous family who was trying to foster him had him in diapers because he was severely traumatized and would pee if you just looked at him wrong. We joked about renaming him “Sprinkles.” We didnt use diapers and tried to work with him to regain his confidence. Many spills were cleaned, carpets shampooed. We learned to basically not look at him when he was ‘excited’ as that excitement was usually “terror” not excitement. What seemed like “pet my belly” was really “please don’t hit me.”
Slowly, a day at a time, he got better. Daily pee events became every other day, then a few a week, then over a week apart, then even longer. It took over a month for his ears to raise up all, as he was always cowering/scared.
Over time he we went from a timid, flinching pup to a completely confident scrappy high energy dog 99 percent of the time. Ears up, tail wagging constantly, tearing about the house and the yard like a Tasmanian devil. “Pet my belly” actually meant pet my belly.” Jokes about new names went from “Sprinkles” to “Speedy.”

Last night Brent got adopted and today he has a new home. It’s pretty quiet now with just one dog, and we miss Brent a lot, but it feels good to have helped rehabilitate him and send him on his way to a better home.

I had to end stream becayse I got a migraine level headache, and this little champ kept me company while I sat in the dark with my eyes closed. It turned my recover time from pure misery to fluffy misery, which was so much better

Made a couple of click & collect orders, went back to bed for a couple of hours. Cat is now asleep on my lap while we wait for pizza to be delivered. Will go collect purchases & do a Starbucks run after I eat.
