RGB modded the CD32 :amigacd32: , no idea if it works because I don't have a MD2 RGB scart cable. Always was a SFC fan, only have a MD1 in the basement somewhere. Used a 9-pin DIN socket upside down, soldered onto the mainboard. Used a fiber glass pen to expose some copper to solder the socket onto it. Used csync from the Sony CXA1145, not composite video. Just have to wait for the MD2 RGB scart cable to arrive now to test.

The TL082 amplifier arrived today, so I could finally continue fixing the sound on the CD32 :amigacd32: . Used a heat gun to remove the ic, after which as you can see in the photo there is a black pad. I used a fiber glass pen to clean it and then re-tinned it. Soldered the new TL082 (U15B) in place and the audio is working properly again.

Finally found the problem of the crackling in the sound. Stopped changing the recapped capacitors after doing most that were related to sound. Connected one of the audio RCA plugs to clamps, connected it to ground and a paperclip and started probing where the sound originates from the PAULA chip until I reached where the sound starts to distort at U15B, an amp. Now to wait for the replacement to arrive.

Found a borked Amiga CD32 :amigacd32: in my basement. Recap, still wouldn't read discs. Replaced laser, still didn't work. Forgot to remove static discharge protection solder blob from the laser, doh! Loading discs now, but sound cracking. Probably a short under one of the caps, redoing all of them now.

Found this #amigacd32 in the basement. Haven't seen this for a long time. Something I picked up a long time ago. Always had a souped up #amiga500 myself, the CD32 does not give me any nostalgic feelings, so I will be testing/cleaning/fixing this one up and put it up #forsale.
