I watched that film . There was barely any dialogue and they completely misrepresented both characters making them boring nobodies. Murchison was actually a renowned geologist and they made her a ditsy ninny. It was so boring.

it's been a while since i've gone through my ammonite collection.

this is a 'rainbow' ammonite, which has been polished to reveal the iridescent nacre. i believe it's a relatively common mon, a Cleoniceras from the Cretaceous.

A lot of people like to call my usual artstyle , but I would say that is incorrect. Pointilism makes explicit use of color, whereas I only draw in b&w, so it is more accurate to call it .

So, here‘s my actual first attempt at pointilism. I tried to draw Baculites, a Late genus of which is notable for briefly surviving past the K-Pg impact.

This fossilized shell hangs on a wall in the department of the George-August University in . It is 85 million years old, meaning by the time this died, it took another 20 million years before the dinosaurs went extinct. For a size comparison check the blue ballpen at the lower mount.

Couldn't believe there was not more attention paid to it, then I realized: "Ah. 2020."

The wikipedia entry said it grossed something like $90,000. So it is one of those object lessons for the people in suits: "Don't bet on the artist." But is this case it really was a superb bet to make, and I hope people get a chance to see it on Netflix. One of the best things has done that I've seen.
