Great Albums - 1970s: #AmonDuulII – #Yeti (1970). An early volley for so-called “krautrock,” Amon Düül II sounds like Jefferson Airplane brawling with The Velvet Underground on a rocket to Venus. Renata Knaup’s voice weaves and wails, as hell-to-pay violin, skullduggery guitars, and Dave Anderson’s Jack Cassidean bass fight the planets. Sure, not all Düül live performances were totally together. As Renate explained, usually different factions in the band were often on different drug groups - uppers, downers, psychedelics - but this particular night is just very intense and together.
They lied in the album title tho: they didn't Live in London.
