#lessonoftheday The risk of not spending the money for a high-end #standingdesk is the risk that the lift mechanism stops working after two days. Desk failure is not a great way to start the morning, especially when #planning to be #productive.
I remind myself that this is an excellent #amor_fati moment. Amor fati is a Latin phrase that means "love of fate" or "love of one's destiny." It describes an attitude in which one accepts and even enjoys whatever happens, regardless of how unpleasant it might be. #stoicism
What have we learned, Emily? "When buying tech and items involving engineering, the risk of buying cheap is the machine will not perform its purpose, negating any investment." Additionally, extra time must be spent returning, claiming warranties, and shipping back a low-quality product.
#lessonslearned If you buy a standing desk, spend the extra money for a highly reviewed, highly trusted product. If you don't have the money,? You can save until you do because wasting money on a cheap desk isn't worth your time.
I just ordered a high-quality (and high-cost) desk. I'll post my review to confirm if it was worth it.
