YAY! Finished another audio drama series, well, the scripts, anyway. 25 episodes. Now off to the lovely pitching mound again! How do other fiction podcasters do it? Pitching is exhausting! Anyway, below is the basics.
Title, 63 contractions.
Genre: Drama/romance.
Eric has always been shy and doesn’t take chances he should. One day, with the encouragement of his friends, he leaves a Braille letter in the backpack of one of his crushes, Derick. Goalball Superstar. He thinks Derick is going to love the letter, but there's only one problem. Eric used contractions incorrectly. Derick doesn’t know who actually wrote the letter. Derick assumes it's his Goalball teammate, Jamaal. When Eric is assigned to cover the Goalball tournament for a journalistic event, the two boys don't get along at all upon first meeting because Derick doesn’t believe that Eric wrote the letter with the lovely Braille hearts at the bottom. Derick appears to be a very different person in real life. He's pretentious and a bit of a sports snob. Eric appears to be an absolute dweeb, someone Derick would never be caught dead with. As the letters keep coming though, and textual bonds build between these two blind men, both will soon realize that you should never judge a book by it's cover because you'll miss what's inside.
Literary agent: Yo Rob, have you thought about your romance colors and branding?
Me: Can't I just market myself as a man that writes books that sizzle?
Agent: I mean for your website rebranding.
me: How about a man that can't spell but writes books that sizzle and hates branding, with a fabulously massive spreadsheet of book boyfriends that are alpha but bake cookies and cakes?
Agent: I need chocolate.

DEATH OF A MAYFLY
"I'd always walk past our house, nestled quietly on Main Street across from the park. Its tall front windows hid everything inside, except after the sun went down and someone flipped on the living room lights. Then I could see the old place."

"Mom loved them, too. 'It's time for the mayfly snow,' she'd write, and we'd sit on our front porch scooping up handfuls of them, making 'snowballs' and throwing them at each other."

"Oh, it's the mayfly snow," I gasped, reaching up to catch one of the little bugs. He looked down at the ground and shut his eyes. "Dammit." And then Tom disappeared. #MoodPitch #AdultFiction #magicalrealism #gothic #writingcommunity #literaryagent #ampitching #amquerying #WritingCommunity

Swapped all of Romeo and Juliet's characters with public domain fairy tale characters and made them all have Disabilities. Tried to modernize some of the language, but couldn't, so it's half translated, half not, with gay characters. Anyone know how to make Fountain files look like a stage script? Could I even sell this version if William Shakespeare's name comes before mine in the credits? #AmPitching #AmDrafting
