My brainstorming map for The Uncalled (yeah, it has a name and not much else). After a bit I'll draw one or more that focuses on one thing (eg. towns and roads, or geographic features) instead of something that suffers from a wealth of detail.

I was planning to write my next novel in longhand as I need to slow it down and I tend to type mega fast, but in the end I just don’t think it’s going to work. I need the organisational power of Scrivener so I can keep an overview of my whole novel

I feel like I'm getting bogged down with thinking about character arcs today, after reading some great articles about story structure. I realised both my protags have flat arcs and that's probably why I'm struggling to write one of them in particular. I can see how changing that arc will make a much stronger story, but it mucks up my inciting event until I can work out an alternative, boo.

Now that April is over and the hard work of pushing through Camp NaNo is done, I think I'll reward myself by returning to an old story of mine that I've had some fresh new ideas about.

I'm doing something out of the ordinary (for me) and taking the week leading up to #CampNaNoWriMo to do some actual plotting and prepping. Last night, I read through what I have of my first draft so far to re-acquaint myself with that world. Tonight I start reviewing the rough outline I made during #NaNoWriMo and revising it based on what I actually wrote. I guess I'm a #plantser now!

So here's a question. Does anyone know any decent resources about imposter syndrome (or similar to it) where it concerns identity?

Things like subjective experiences of LGBT+ people who aren't plugged into community and concerned they're not "doing it right", 3rd or 4th ceneration children of immigrants who weren't raised with the culture that they're assumed to know, that sort of thing.

Not quite sure where to go to #research that.
