I want to build a new #guitar #amplifier. My first build was a Princeton Reverb. Marshall next I reckon. Trying to decide between a JTM45 (bluesbreaker) clone or a JMP50 (1987x) plexi one. I mostly play blues, funk, certainly nothing super high gain. All types of guitars. Watched a million comparison videos. Can’t decide still.

JTM sounds maybe nicer clean but a bit flabby bass? JMP a bit more rock and do I want that? Opinions welcome. :)

There are days I’m very proud I build a tube amp and there are days I feel I was very stupid to build one and today has been both of those. Amp is back out of the chassis and on the shelf being prodded and at one point I had a short and the smell of sizzling plastic.

hey y'all. i'm looking for some #help putting together a new #hifi setup. last week i acquired an #Aiwa brand #turntable and three matching #speakers, and i'd really like to find a matching #amplifier, but so far my search results have been suboptimal.

my turntable is an Aiwa PX-E860, and i have one Aiwa SX-C605 center speaker and 2 Aiwa SX-R275 stereo speakers. the turntable has a 2001 manufacture date, so i'm betting the speakers are about the same since i found them all in the same place.

i can't find a product catalogue or anything from around that time, so i'm truly at a loss as to what model of amplifier i should be looking for.
