So I have this Fender Mustang I modeling amp for my electric guitars. It has a British 60s amp setting which is supposed to sound like a Vox - but I'll be damned if I can get it to sound remotely similar to what I hear from other modeling amps with Vox settings. Am I doing something absolultey wrong? Too much gain? Too little? Not enough treble? Ahhhhhhh

Or are all the YouTubers just editing their videos to make their amps sound more "correct?"

Frustrating.

I never learn... I went to see the Indigo Girls at Stern Grove Sunday, and sat near the speaker stack. My ears are still ringing. Next time I bring earplugs.

We have a very small house. This is the staircase a carpenter friend built for us a few years ago. My #studio is up those stairs. Every single day I am thankful that I no longer own or need large, heavy #amplifiers.

Once again I find myself downsizing my #pedalboard situation. As one does. Still going to have three boards for different situations (one is mostly for outdoor performances, for example, and another will no longer have any “dirt” pedal - just a boost), but they will now be more distinct from one another in how they function with a variety of #amplifiers, rather than having all three do pretty much the same thing.

When it gets warm it crackles a lot, so something has "gone". Is it worth repairing or better to replace?

Can’t believe how fast Mouser dropped this new iron to me. Also can’t wait to begin this amp build. It’s taken some time to gather the resources and I’m still waiting on a few parts, but should be able to kick it in high gear and move towards distorted harmonic bliss very soon!

Tour of #amplifiers. #Filmosound 385 projector amp modded by #MadScienceWorks in Raleigh, NC. #Speaker is a single Jupiter 10” 50 watt ceramic. Guitar is a 72 #Telecaster with a #HarmonicDesign Z90 in the neck and early #Dimarzio tele replacement in the bridge. (The hum disappears when it’s back in the cabinet.)
