Today's photo: Amstel between Omval and Hogesluis (1890). To the left is the Hogesluis, to the right the Amstel Hotel. The steamer in the middle of the photo was one of several ships that operated between Amsterdam and destinations along the Amstel, carrying freight as well as passengers.
