I am reminded by @DataDrivenMD's thread about #anaesthesiology and #bicycling of the most stereotypical bit of #German humour I was exposed to.
My first summer in Germany I got into a bike accident. I moved over to let someone pass on a bike path, and my front tire left the pavement. This was on a downhill at about 30km/h. I was wearing a helmet, and did a pretty good forward roll and so only ended up injuring my wrists.
