One of my favorites from 2022, this is a curated compilation of found tracks. I've not heard of Rebajada before, but it's essentially a slowed down, lofi cumbia. This is what I would listen to if I was slow dancing with somebody in an otherwise empty saloon in the afternoon.

Now playing: Various, Saturno 2000: La Rebajada de Los Sonideros 1962-1982 2022, Analog Africa). Rebajada was sort of a cumbia precedent for DJ Screw’s screwed and chopped work decades later: DJs would work to find cumbia 45s that sounded good slowed way down. In this case, the source material is largely Peruvian chicha, which was already pretty psychedelic to begin with. Great stuff. #chicha #cumbia #rebajada #analogafrica @vinylrecords
