This is a problem that is found throughout academia, and especially in #AncientStudies. Which means that a 'progressive' conference like #AIMS should really be aware of the methods that have been developed to combat this specific problem.

That being said, I wouldn't be putting #AIMS on blast without giving the organizers a chance to fix this in a reasonable way. I was *personally invited* to come to business meeting of the conference, and I did so in the hopes of helping them address it. 3/?

I've given it a year, and I still want to make a new remote academic conference on new/exciting areas of study in ancient Greek and Roman studies, to be held hopefully next August.

What I need to make this happen: one or two more conference coordinators to join me in the next month or two in order to plan and do outreach. Preferably at least one BIPOC, because I want that input from the top.
