PS. I'm not familiar with the Rebels or Clone Wars. I've only seen Ahsoka in The Mandalorian. And now I'm interested in her back story. Well done.

#Ahsoka - Episode 3.

I enjoyed the episode!

The dogfight scenes were gorgeously choreographed and I liked spending some time with Ahsoka and Sabine in the training sequence. One thing I noticed in the dogfight sequence was how Ahsoka was encouraged by Huyang to consider alternative strategy and there were a couple of really beautiful character moments when she placed her trust in Sabine and gave her the floor to get them out of trouble.

Regarding the mystery box tendencies of the storytelling - one of the most important pieces of advice I've received as a writer is that a narrative should be constructed as set-up and pay-off. Set-up and pay-off. If you have multiple plot threads, they should play off one another and contribute to the set-up/pay-off structure. This episode was very much about setting up for pay-offs down the line and I hope Filoni has built them in. Ahsoka will succeed if it follows that structural maxim.

The sequel trilogy failed because it relied too much on the mystery box. It's a terrible writing strategy and it reveals much about how they no idea what they were doing when they were constructing the story.

#Andor has succeeded (so far) because Tony Gilroy employed the set-up/pay-off strategy.

It will be interesting to watch this series unfold and watch back once it's complete.

A note about Kevin Kiner's score. It is fast becoming the successor to John Williams. It has the Williams foundational voice and Kiner is bringing his own to it. On my second watch of this episode, I found myself really engaging with the score and felt the spirit of Williams (and a little Vangelis if I may say) within it. Just outstanding!

And his buddy Favreau has ideas but doesn't seem to be able to develop them in a whole show, connect them (Mando S3E3 & S3E6 in particular), give them depth (maffia boss in BOBF).

I'm hyped only for #Andor, #TheAcolyte and Mangold's movie.
The High Republic developments on several ways of the force, similar to a religion school of thoughts, is also interesting and new.

Finally watching #Andor. This show is so antifascist, I’m surprised it was allowed to be made.

On episode 6 of #Andor the #Aldhani heist went about as sideways as I expected, though not entirely how I thought it would. #Cassian and the rest of the #StarWars galaxy will be forever changed; that's for sure.

I'm actually hooked on #Andor now. But it took 3 tedious episodes.

Great set design. Not through with season 1 yet, but if feels like several interesting movies in one. WW2 guerilla story in space, political thriller in an art-deco metropolis and some stuff on a dusty dirty junkyard planet without which it wouldn't be Star Wars I guess 😉

Finally caught up with #ahsoka - it wasn’t a shot of liquid crack to the bloodstream the way #andor was. So far it just feels like Rebels but with real people!
Nonetheless, I was filled with sadness every time Ray Stevenson was on scene.
