🔒 Endlich abschied von andOTP genommen, da es schon länger nicht mehr gepflegt wird. Hab zu #aegis gewechselt – ein beeindruckendes Stückchen #oss! 💡

U.a. kann es die Sicherungen der meisten anderen Tools (auch ,#andOTP) lesen, so dass ein Umstieg in 5 gemacht ist.

Das Einzige, was mich an Aegis im Vergleich zum davor von mir genutzten, aber nicht mehr weiterentwickelten #AndOTP stört:
Man kann den vorherigen Code nicht einblenden.

Wenn man sich nicht alle Ziffern gemerkt, aber schon angefangen hat zu tippen, und der Code wechselt, kann man von vorn anfangen.

Würde der alte Code angezeigt, könnte man den noch nutzen, da es ein Toleranzfenster gibt.

Das war bei AndOTP echt praktisch.

As #Android App I would recommend #andOTP. It supports the standard method that every web site is using: #TOTP (Time-based One Time Password).

TOTP is also an open standard. No secret source code or patent here. You can even program it yourself.

To back up your TOTP for an account, you only have to export the secret key. I store them in my #Keepass database file for example. Do not give the secret key away.

Hab angefangen durch mein #Keepass File zu gehen und alle Einträge mit neuem #Passwort zu versehen und wo möglich #2FA über #TOTP mit #andOTP zu aktivieren.

@e33io Indeed it's awesome but I purposely try not to keep all eggs in a single basket, so my login credentials sit separate from my 2FA in case of an unexpected breach from any of them. Having said that, I also use #Aegis and #andOTP in case Authy disappears overnight. :smart:

Teprve nedávno jsem se dozvěděl, že vývoj #andOTP skončil. Pátral jsem po náhradě a byl mi doporučen #AegisAuthenticator. Import šifrované andOTP databáze OK, navíc umí automatické zálohování při každé změně. Za mě jednoznačný 👍
