I also recently finished reading Flip Back, by Andrew Cartmell, the fourth Vinyl Detective novel. While I sped through it as usual, this one didn’t feel like it had the sense of humour of previous novels, and fell a bit flat on the plot too.

Enjoyed this essay on Anarchist readings of Doctor Who by Dr Jon Bigger, which amongst many good observations draws attention in particular to the essential conservatism of the Chibnall era relative to Cartmel/McCoy, cf: Kerblam! vs The Happiness Patrol.
