I listened to the episode of the #CBC At Issue panel mentioned in the essay. One of the points made by #AndrewCoyne was that we should have some experiments, and we should be prepared for some of the experiments to fail. If we knew what would definitely work to improve the system, we'd be doing it already...

Personally, I'd like to see more study of what works well in other countries.

Yeah David, I agree about the #cdnpoli being more actively used on twitshit. During some of the more reported on elections in the early 2010s, using free analysis sites, one could clearly see the cdnpoli hashtag as vastly more effective in connecting and mobilizing within the #cdnnews #cdnfed #cdnelxn conversation. So, for e.g., you’d see #andrewcoyne from #macleans or 🇨🇦 #politicos and pundits from maybe #tvo , #cbc , #globeandmail , #torontostar @torontostar , maybe #globalnewsca and #metronews using common hashtags -again, this probably only became a habitual and noticeable change IMO during #canadaelection time where #cdnelxn , #cpc #lpc #gpc #tories #pctories #ndp #canadavotes tags had a noticeably significant boost.

I'm not making any strong claims about how the issue of #abortion affects voting in #canpol , only that I haven't seen any convincing analysis of the politics. For some reason, the people who write newspaper columns are uniformly of the opinion that the issue loses the #Conservatives votes.
