Hop, Mi A3 configuré avec la ribambelle d’app Google remplacées par les Simple Mobile Tools, et pour un appareil de 2019, il carbure toujours aussi bien.
Malheureseument, il fait parti de ceux dont les mises-à-jour sont bloquées depuis deux ans par Xiaomi :(

I need a new phone. My #Fairphone3 broke and my son's old Moto G4 is a bit… slow. Wish list:

1. Plain #Android as close to #AOSP as possible (like #AndroidOne) or easy to install custom ROM.
2. Camera with decent optics (a megapixel sensor is useless without a proper lens).
3. Accurate GPS.

FYI, Google Authenticator doesn't work on the X20 anymore. When you attempt to add a new 2FA using a QR code, the camera only shows a black screen.

Appears to relate to devices running Android 13.

Ich habe einen Jellyfin Server laufen und die alten Smartphones werden als Mediengeräte mit der Jellyfin App genutzt. Wahlweise können sie die Dinger mit ihren Bluetooth Lautsprechern oder der Heimanlage verbinden. Jellyfin kann auch Video usw. Internet ist komplett gesperrt. Die Kinder lieben es und kommen gut damit klar.

Setzt halt voraus, dass man die Medien auch besitzt und digital ablegt.

Hat jemand zum #BlackFriday eine Empfehlung für ein möglichst naturbelassenes #Android / #AndroidOne-Handy im Angebot?

Aktuell habe ich ein in die Jahre kommendes #MotoG, #OnePlus oder #GooglePixel kommen mir da auch noch in den Sinn. Ich orientiere mich da eher am Bereich Mittelklasse.

I desperately need a new #mobilePhone as my current one (a #Xiaomi #MiA1) was bought way back in 2018 or so, and is showing its age (slow, apps don't stay in memory, and tomorrow I'll be replacing the charging board for the third or fourth time...).

I'm currently looking at either the Xiaomi #RedmiNote10Pro or the #RedmiNote11S for about 2200 NOK from a European webshop that doesn't take ages on shipping.

with the 10 Pro's pros include having a Snapdragon instead of MediaTek chipset, higher Antutu score, better screen, more durable glass and better macro lens.
Its cons however include being a tad bigger, and perhaps more importantly: being older (March 2021 vs January 2022) than the 11S (and thus likely will have less updates remaining), which could be an issue with how I tend to use my phones beyond their support date...

I've also read some disturbing hardware and software, and bloatware issues, and I'm not sure how much of that is due to negative feedback bias, and dodgy early Android releases that should perhaps have stayed beta for longer...
I've yet to do a similar hw/sw issues research for the 11S though, so perhaps that will have similar issues reported.

I'm also not sure how much I'll actually like #MiUI, as my previous Xiaomi was an #AndroidOne device, and thus had 3 major updates worth of stock #Android... from what I've heard the Xiaomi of that period can't quite be compared to the current one...

None of the phones I've looked at for the past 1-2 years have really stood out for me, but I also think I'm running out of time on my current one... ugh, I hate being forced to replace hardware due to hardware and software degradation...

Würde nicht mehr davon ausgehen, dass #androidone automatisch lange Updates bekommt: Nokia 6.1 hatte keine 3 Jahre durchgehalten. Gekauft, weil mit AndroidOne "lange Updates" versprochen wurden. Das Galaxy S7 hat 4 Jahre ausgehalten. Das Galaxy S5 läuft jetzt noch sogar mit #lineageos . Übrigens: wenn ein Hersteller oder Maintainer schreibt, dass ein Sicherheits-Patch gemacht wurde, bedeutet das nicht, dass es auch richtig implementiert wurde und das Gerät dann sicher ist :-)

Quindi ho deciso di sostituire la versione stock di #android con una #ROM più attenta alla privacy ma che mantenga comunque una buona UX, consigli?

End of life: Nokia 6.1 was released on 06 May 2018. Last Security Update: 01 April 2021. #AndroidOne had been supported for almost 3 years. How time flies. Guilty conscience for electronic scrap in mint condition - as good as new. I am disappointed.

Das neue Smartphone ist wegen #AndroidOne frei von #Bloatware. Allerdings prangte oben mittig eine Datumsanzeige und unten das übliche #Google Suchfeld. Beides ließ sich nicht entfernen. Also musste ein neuer #Launcher her. Ich wusste, dass #NovaLauncher beliebt ist, hatte bislang aber nur zahlreiche andere ausprobiert. Diesmal wollte ich es aber wissen und kann jetzt nachvollziehen, warum dieser so beliebt ist. Klare Empfehlung 😊

Hab die Geräte aus der #AndroidOne Reihe lange Zeit empfohlen. Mittlerweile ist das Projekt leider nur ein Schatten seiner selbst, wie @SmartDroidDE@twitter.com zutreffend schreiben 😔

En gros, on évite les mécanismes d'« optimisation de la batterie » propres aux constructeurs, qui cassent les applications plus qu'autre chose, et qui sont le plus souvent impossibles à désactiver ou même configurer !

C'est une plaie, surtout pour les applications qui effectuent des synchronisations en arrière-plan 😩
