#AndStatus just did the one thing I hate the most, skip more than 20 hrs of toots. I see no option to reload them from cache.

BUT, I'll still use the app til Friday, because it handles toots that are currently on the timeline perfectly. Home timeline never moves nor scrolls AT ALL when you interact with toots. It remembers where you actually were before.

Though it's already a huge stretch opting to still use it because it has A LOT of issues, I'm hoping that the toots skip was a hiccup.

I am currently going through toots from 2 days ago using #AndStatus.

I pinned the app so it won't be put to sleep and tweaked the battery-saving options so it will never be terminated 2 days ago. Now, I am only a few dozen toots in and it kind of looks like it has my entire home timeline saved up (I hope I don't jinx it).

Will report if this trial thing goes well.

Does AndStatus have working notifications on Android?

On GrapheneOS under notification settings for AndStatus "This app does not send notifications".

Does it need to register itself or something?

I tested #Megalodon, #Twidere, #AndStatus. I am really bummed by AndStatus as it has such potential but failed my accessibility tests.

Problem with the Mastodon API is that it app-specific, only sort of a de-facto standard. It is tailored for Mastodon (obviously) and microblogging domain. Any feature an alternative app has that is different, doesn't fit in that API.

The #ActivityPub spec defines a Client-to-Server (C2S) interface, and it would be nice if that got some uptake.

I'm afraid that people are going to think I don't like #andstatus because they are #Russian, when in fact I've used the app a lot and I think it's the worst #fediverse #ActivityPub #mastodon app for #Android by a LARGE margin.

I think the developer of #AndStatus has the word Eukrayne muted so they don't have to hear about how their country is killing innocent civilians.

That said; #AndStatus just barely functions as a mastodon client; can't follow or unfollow people, can't view CW'd content, etc.

Also, #Megalodon's image uploading is as terrible as their imagine loading!

I'm leaning back toward #fedilab, but #tooot and #tusky are still in the running.
