@yogthos Must remember: private transit, that is, privately owned cars, depend on a huge amount of subsidies in the form of road building and maintenance, parking infrastructure, medical system to cope with pollution and car accidents, traffic police, oil industry subsidies and more, many more.

The best gift the rest of the world could give the US is trips to places where public transport is so seamless and dependable one doesn't think about it.
