If you visit the Angel’s Envy distillery in Louisville, Kentucky, make sure you take the tour. By taking the tour, you end up at their private bar. This is where I indulged in their award-winning which ranks in my top 3 for this drink.

Angels Envy Rye may be one of, if not the worst whiskeys I think a have ever had. Strong fake vanilla up front followed by some intense butterscotch. I know taste is subjective, but I found nothing redeeming about this bottle.

Of the 3 I’ve toured - Michter’s, Evan Williams, and Old Forester - I think Michter’s is my favorite so far. It’s not a terribly high bar though, so I’m looking forward to Angels Envy, Rabbit Hole, and beyond.
