In the poem giant space ships are taking populations from Earth to Mars after nuclear war, but in the film it seems shifted towards a general environmental collapse. What happens next was repurposed for the tv show “Avenue 5”

Stylistically it’s close to Solaris and 2001

#Avenue5 has been cancelled. No Season 3. i didn't realize it was a comedic take on #Aniara - also a cruise--ship/spaceship that malfunctions and goes off course.
Aniara (Greek for 'despair') is a well done slow paced Swedish movie with much bleakness and despair... broken by requisite sex orgy.

Hands down, the best #scifi movie in the last decade: #Aniara

Aniara is a 2018 #Swedish film written and directed by Pella Kågerman and Hugo Lilja, excellent cast and an ending that will haunt your sleepless nights. Gut-wrenchingly beautiful.

#Sunshine from 2007, directed by Danny Boyle, great performances by Cillian Murphy, Michelle Yeoh, Rose Byrne, Mark Strong et al. is pretty damn good too.
