Reminding oneself of the truth of impermanence in dark times might seem morbid or wallowing, but it helps my anxiety to remember security has always been an illusion created by my mind

meditating today the thoughts that kept popping into my mind:
"I am going to get sick
I am going to die"

The #Buddha said we should treat praise & condemnation with #equanimity, as winds that blow first this way, then that--neither permanent, neither self. I am in danger of being dropped because my #DWFI rates are so abysmal--my Ws are killing me--& have been orienting my mind & my life toward no longer #teaching after this next term. Then I open my email this morning & find I've been nominated by a couple of my students for a teaching award.
