Jude Whiley argues in #Wired that #LabGrownMeat is #vegan.

What do the #vegans and non vegans (#omnivore, #vegetarian, #flexitarian etc.) in the #mastodon community think of this bold statement? Are we entering a schism? Or is it hyperbole and lab grown meat is simply a fad?

I personally like the idea of sticking with things that have the vegan sticker, so to speak. So I personally wouldn't want to eat meat grown from animal cells, as it is in contrast to my personal beliefs. As a scientist though, I do not find the technology scary, and I won't look down on people that are willing to try and embrace this new future, as the author rightly points out, this would bring people in the right direction towards the #veganism end goal of #AnimalAbolitionism. In fact, if it leads people towards the right path, I say it's a good thing.
