What do the and non vegans (, , etc.) in the community think of this bold statement? Are we entering a schism? Or is it hyperbole and lab grown meat is simply a fad?

I personally like the idea of sticking with things that have the vegan sticker, so to speak. So I personally wouldn't want to eat meat grown from animal cells, as it is in contrast to my personal beliefs. As a scientist though, I do not find the technology scary, and I won't look down on people that are willing to try and embrace this new future, as the author rightly points out, this would bring people in the right direction towards the end goal of . In fact, if it leads people towards the right path, I say it's a good thing.
