Germany's Roncalli circus has replaced live animals with holograms of elephants, lions, and other exotic creatures.

Due to concerns over animal welfare, the circus stopped using lions and elephants in its shows in 1991. But it went further in 2018 and completely removed live animals from its programme.

"It is no longer appropriate for Roncalli to show real animals in the ring".

If you want to go farther, inquire about your local shelter’s foster program and make space in your home for animals that need some love before they are spayed/neutered, and really for a furever home.

If you want to go even farther, look into your local TNR programs and help control the stray population humanely.

Anything you do helps, but if you want to do more, there’s always more you can.

In my perspective, farming animals for meat is upsetting, but simply for me, pig farming is one of the most nightmarish and horrific parts of the meat industry.

I just … need to talk about it.

It’s honestly just an endless cycle of suffering and misery. First off, female pigs are basically kept constantly pregnant.

Female pigs, notably, cannot conceive unless they are aroused, so … in factory farms, they must be manually aroused by a human in order to inseminate them with collected boar semen. While this isn’t done to gratify the zoophilic desires of the human, imo it’s still wrong to do this to an animal, no matter the motivation behind it.

Sows are kept in gestation crates and farrowing crates pretty much their whole lives. They can barely move in these crates.

Once the piglets are born, they almost immediately have their tails removed and some teeth removed without a anesthesia. 1/?
