Ahoy, fellow pachyderms. The contrast between #PachydermPlace and #FowlSite is striking. We’re mostly #AniPal Twitter so, like here, we try to tell some little vignette from our day. Here, appreciative followers boost these little tales. There, meh!

Mastodon only searches addresses and hashtags so it is important to use hashtags. I prefer in line as it give some emphasis to what I'm saying like italic does.

Post a check-in daily. If you do #AniPal foolishness get your affiliations in your bio. You might be interested in @ZSHQ and #HedgeWatch which is HedgeWatchers, mostly #cats

@Jelaniya There are islands of community, maybe 1000 or so on each, like the #AniPal clubs. If you don’t follow politicos, news outlets & their staff, you never see the crap. @twitteriffic app filters the adverts etc. Twitterrific experience is much better than Twitter!

@snarkywench Drop by @dismalmanorgang.mastodon.online and look at my bio. Then write your elevator speech hashtaging important nouns and verbs. How would you like to interact. #DogMastodon is a good start. Or one of the emerging #AniPal clubs. And your #music #NowPlaying.

Second, use hashtags in your posts. Only addresses and hashtags can be searched.

Third, a post with a #photo gains more traction than just a post.

Fourth, #checkin regularly with a photo and some hash related to the photo
