Warmer winter temperatures cansed by climate change are affecting the ability of First Nations in Canada to hunt, fish, and forage for traditional foods. These foods are needed to ensure good nutrition and for combatting the high rate of food insecurity among tne many Indigenous people who live on reserves.

Je lis les nouvelles SF de l'écrivain autochtone Drew Hayden Taylor et j'ai vu qu'en 2018, il participait à un reportage à la CBC (Radio-Can. anglo), sous-titrés en français (si désiré).
Titre: Drew Hayden Taylor wants to understand the roots of the German obsession with Native North Americans.
(Drew veut comprendre quelle est l’origine de la fascination allemande à l’égard des Premières Nations d’Amérique du Nord)

Check out this amazing #Dakota land map of the Twin Cities by Marlena Myles.
"Learn more about sacred sites, get a free version to print at home, order prints and hear audio pronunciation by Dawí (Huhá Máza).
This is the time of year where we actively honor the Dakota 38+2 and other victims of the Dakota war of 1862, so take some time to learn more about the Dakota homelands of the Minnesota River Valley."

#KeithSecola (Anishinabe/Ojibwe) Wailing Blues (#NativeRock). What makes the song even more meaningful is the lyrics, a Native son's farewell and anguish at the passing of his father, so beautiful. Female vocalist with high octaves is Melanie (Black Cherokee/Black Indian). #Indigenous

Zogipoon - written and sung in #Ojibwe by Keith Secola.
Zogipoon or Zoogipon in Ojibwe means "It Snows".
If I remember correctly, Keith wrote Zogipoon at the University of Minnesota for his degree in American Indian Studies. I've read the lyrics translation and it's a beautiful poem. #Indigenous

Hey ya hey ya hey ya (chant)
In my hour of dying
the walls are closing in
I hear the angels crying
the end is about to begin ...
I'm flying all around
Shroud cover my face
Son singing chants
Take me to this place
Spirit hold my hand
Maintain my faith
In my darkest hour
I become a man ...
