In the skimmers family of dragonflies - the largest #dragonfly family in the world.
They're similar to the 12 spotted #skimmer - which has additional black spots on both wing tips.

On Sunday, I put out a branch to overhang my pond; on Monday, a male Four-Spotted Chaser took up station on the branch, and yesterday, he spent most of the afternoon chasing off a rival male that was also trying to establish ownership of the pond. It's going to be a long week! #dragonfly#FourSpottedChaser #insect #SnáthaidMhór #Anisoptera #LibellulaQuadrimaculata #GalwayNature #GardenPond #Galway #Ireland #biodiversity

Un Pixaví Estriat (Sympetrum striolatum) domina el seu entorn des d'aquest punt per tal de sortir volant quan vegi un insecte del seu grat.

My first spotting of the Trumpet-Tail (Acisoma panorpoides) dragonfly. :-) This was at Springleaf Nature Park, Singapore, on 1 June 2019.
It has an unusual shaped abdomen for a dragonfly, making it easy to identify.

A Dark-tipped Forest-Skimmer (Cratilla metallica), female, spotted at Windsor Nature Park, Singapore, on 6 April 2019. Was passing through one of the areas where trees were being cleared when she came and perched on the exposed branch next to the path.
This is one of the larger dragonflies to be found locally.

I was preoccupied with taking the photo of another dragonfly that I nearly missed seeing this one perched just above it.
This is a Dancing Dropwing (Trithemis pallidinervis), a less common dragonfly in Singapore, spotted at Springleaf Nature Park on 10 March 2019.

A Scarlet Grenadier (Lathrecista asiatica), also known as an Asian Blood Tail, spotted at Pasir Ris Park, Singapore, on 1 Jan 2019.
It was very cooperative, not moving when I took up various positions around it to take these lovely shots.

The Common Flangetail (Ictinogomphus decoratus) spotted at Windsor Nature Park, Singapore, on 24 March, 2018.
A medium sized dragonfly, it is also known as a 'Clubtail dragonfly', due to the 'flap' near the end of its tail, making it easy to recognise.
It is widespread in the South-east Asian region.

A Variegated Green Skimmer (Orthetrum sabina) spotted at Tampines Eco Garden, Singapore on 16 Dec 2018.
This is a medium sized dragonfly with striking green and black markings. It is also widespread, from southern Europe to Australia, so you may have seen it.

A Yellow-Barred Flutterer (Rhyothemis phyllis) spotted at Choa Chu Kang Park, Singapore, on 16 Dec 2018. A medium-sized dragonfly often seen fluttering but not resting, the patterns on its wings makes it unmistakable to identify.
It was perched at eye-level, so I crouched down for the first two shots to get profile shots of the wings.
