In late 2022 we ran an exploratory trip to visit Manang and Lake Tilicho, and it was amazing! Have decided to add this to our regular schedule.

I love love love the very first light in the morning. Today we picked out a nice stretch of the Marsyangdi River and waited for the light to come into the valley.
I didn't have an ultra-wide lens so I grabbed a pano with the 24mm instead.
This may be controversial to some folks, but this pano was shot at f/2. I do this a lot when shooting directly into the sun, to soften the flare.

I brought my teeny little #Platypod on this trip and figured I wouldn't use it much but this morning I popped my 85mm on the "tripod" and did a few "hires mode" shots.
Still amazes me just how much detail you can get from a 24MP sensor, building a 96MP RAW file.
Also amazes me just how cold it get on the rooftop of our guesthouse at 6am in November!

Took a long walk this morning. A bit longer than we expected. One thing I love about winter in the Himalayas is the low angled light that gives you something to work with even in the middle of the day.

Walking around the village of Pisang today, with brilliant sunshine again. The people here are very friendly towards the camera. Can't say the same about the yaks though.
