I'm a fan of 60s icons Bert Jansch (not too well-known) & Anne Briggs (virtually unknown), so I'm delighted to find Daisy Rickman with her astonishing ability to channel both their spirit & their music. Also, love the birdsong in the background. You may recognize Blackwaterside as the tune Jimmy Page 'covered' (as Black Mountain Side). But Daisy makes it her own. Charming.

What record could be more precious to me than Piper At The Gates Of Dawn? The 1st Anne Briggs LP on Topic, original press and it's goddamn mint shape - which I'm not usually too picky about but it's such a quiet quiet record. It's a goddamn privilege to hear this record this way and I treat it like a religious experience I mean godddamn Anne Briggs...it doesn't get better than this. There was a weird little label out of London called Bo'Weavil Recordings that did these charming almost handmade reissues of some great records and I am currently listening to their Anne Briggs - Complete Topic Recordings 2LP set. I can't say enough about Anne. The woman is a treasure and every minute we have of her singing is precious.
