On this day in 1854, Ann Walker (wife of Anne Lister) died.

Ann Walker was described as a ‘gentlewoman’ and most of what we know about her comes from the diaries of Anne Lister.

However, from the records of the time, and as was the case for many people of that era, it is easy to see that Ann Walker’s life was marked by many great losses.
