My sense of smell has returned (to what it was before)! I discovered this the other night when I went to bed and my lovely husband had been farting up a storm in his sleep đŸ€Ł
I still suffer from partial as my sense of smell slowly dies due to genetics but c'est la vie

Knocked Scentless: The Trials and Tribulations of Living with Congenital Anosmia
Picture this: you're out for a walk and you see a beautiful flower garden. You approach it, inhale deeply, and take in the sweet aroma. But what if you couldn't smell it at all? This is the reality for me and those living with congenital anosmia.

Long COVID Smell Loss Linked to Changes in the Brain

Anosmia, or the loss of the sense of smell caused by long COVID is linked to changes in the brain that prevents correct olfactory processing.

Today is Awareness Day - back in Ep109 of 'My Pocket Psych', I interviewed
Duncan Boak, the Chief Executive of the charity Fifth Sense UK.

We explored the impact of sensory impairment of smell and taste, and the effect it can have in the workplace.

Rewatching Futurama series 10.. "Stench and stenchibility"

I forgot about this episode. Marianne (Emilia Clarke) was born without her sense of smell (just like me)

Nice to know even in the year 3000 Congenital still exists.

I too am oblivious to even the foulest Stench.. but also perfume, flowers, my wife's hair, baking etc :(

Nice to know if I ever get Cryogenically frozen for 1000 years I can always date bipedal crabs people

Even if the punchline is a nose transplant.

;)

By the time Alzheimer's is diagnosed, "almost 90% of patients have anosmia" -- loss of the sense of smell. And it's probably caused by environmental toxins gaining a direct line to our brains.

Air pollution -- it's even worse than we thought.

Joys of
No 4383 in an ongoing series.

There's sour milk in the fridge at work. Not quite sour enough to be lumpy but enough to taste nasty.

guess who found it?

guess HOW I found it?

fourth or fifth mouthful.. "This tastes funny!"

One sniff from a less olfactory challenged colleague and yes, status confirmed as "Off"

XD

I've since evacuated said milk from fridge and relocated to sink and bin :D

I have natural , or extreme sensitivity to smells. The of COVID-19 is something of a relief especially as I still seem to have smell receptors that allow me to taste food.

Looks like I'm going to have a rather crappy Christmas on my own until 27th & unable to taste anything.
Might just have beans on toast or a couple of boiled eggs for my Xmas Dinner 😭

Hope they’re to have their taken away from them

is awful in general, but it’s also a sign that it’s causing brain dysfunction & these Fall/Winter #2022 have been specifically seen to go for the . Worst sounding fashion collection ever; automne/hiver 2022🙄

Just like nerve endings, is an important sense to not lose

I’ve seen mostly surgical masks there.. this will be VERY BAD

At least I can still taste and smell. Other chefs are not so lucky. I have chef friends who can no longer work at all.
