#SkyWatch #Astrophotography The #PinwheelGalaxy (M101) is a large face-on spiral galaxy about 21 million light years from us. It contains a trillion stars. This heavily cropped image begins to sshow the spiral arms with hot bright ionized hydrogen areas where stars form. This image is eight 10-minute exposures that I captured last night when the skies were unexpectedly clear as I got ready for bed. Needless to say, it was #AnotherLateNight #StillLearning
