It's painful watching the #FreddieMercury #Auction, all the significant iconic, cultural and indeed legendary pieces being separated and scattered around the globe to the richest of rich people. It's a feeding frenzy of wealthy vultures. Such a shame, a great, great shame.

I visited Sotheby's in London the other week to look and it left a huge lump in my throat.

All these literally legendary hand written lyric sheets being separated, it's wrong.

Una de las cosas que más me flipan de esta banda es la facilidad para sacar discos que pueden ser mejores o peores, pero que siempre cuentan con tres o cuatro verdaderos temazos.

Este es su octavo disco de estudio en ocho años y se puede decir que el nivel general es altísimo: hay chart-toppers como #AnotherOneBitesTheDust o #CrazyLittleThingCalledLove, temas buenísimos que no tuvieron tanto éxito como #PlayTheGame o #SaveMe, y gemas escondidas como #SailAwaySweetSister o #ComingSoon.

Este es de los discos que atesoro con más orgullo porque se trata de una primera edición española, publicada el año en que nací. La reedición de hace unos años es preciosa con ese plateado brillante y cegador, pero esto es una experiencia diferente y genial. No me costó demasiado en su día y Queen... Es Queen.

They're all owned by Instant Brands, which then merged with... Corelle in 2019. You know, the 1970's Corningware patterns made of Vitrelle? But Corelle by that point was actually private equity company Cornell Capital.

Suprise! Instant Brands declared bankruptcy yesterday and is taking all those brands down with it. But hey, the investors did good, right?

San Francisco's Anchor Brewing (founded in 1896 & possibly America's oldest craft beer), was sold to an investment group in 2010, which then sold it to Japanese beer giant Sapporo in 2017. Fearing changes, workers successfully formed a union in 2019. Now the company has announced that they will be ceasing national distribution, selling only in California, and will no longer be making specialty beers such as their signature Christmas Ale.

Linode, my current host, got bought by Akamai about a year ago. Previously every email notice I received from Linode was a useful alert message regarding the status of one of my hosts. I'm now getting weekly marketing emails from them trying to up-sell me on services that are entirely irrelevant to my needs. I have been so far unsuccessful in attempts to get off of this mailing list.
