Wet, and cold. Shallow puddles rimmed the sidewalks and cracked asphalt, where they were sinking into the grass and mud. Each step of the trongs of sunken-eyed misericordium pushed the man-made paths back below the natural materials. They had had time to prepare. They were given signs. Given warning. Given hope. They had ignored it all, and now they were fated to trudge on as the rains came down, bitter and stinging cold.

The biblical flood might have its origins in myth, but it cannot be denied that many creatures perished in sudden ways and we're only just beginning to really find them and understand them.

You should imagine my surprise, as a biologist when I was approached by Mr Hunt asking to head a research project to locate living #antediluvian monsters.

I should have said no, but I was too intrigued by the photos that he had. There was definitely something in that lake.

I don't do New Years resolutions, but here are a few personal things I'd like to do in 2023:

* Code more in #Go. Coding in my personal time is sporadic, and I'll end up forgetting what I've learned if I don't keep at it.
* Work on my #antediluvian #textAdventure and RPG setting.
* Write 12 new #blog posts (avg. of 1/mth)
* Get a second #motorcycle. Haven't decided what yet.
* See more live concerts. I've missed out on too many opportunities due to avoiding COVID.
