It's February 16 – Anthropology Day! This morning, I'm zooming into a class of sixth graders to talk about what culture is, who has one (yes, you), and how learning to understand other people can make our worlds bigger.
We're looking for some folks interested in #anthropology to attend the Human Relation Area Files at Yale University's virtual #AnthroDay Open Day. Get in touch if you're interested! It will take place on 2/16 or 2/17 in the afternoon EST. There's a form to collect your interest. Students and instructors are welcome. We're trying to up our numbers by the middle of this week so we can build this fun event! Non-anthropologists are also welcome to learn about #HRAF!

In honor of #AnthroDay I'm participating in the K12 matchmaking program. A colleague and I will be Zooming into a sixth grade California classroom to explore how learning about language, culture and identity can increase our respect and understanding of differences. This will be fun. (:

Anthropology Day is coming up, and ... I just signed up for the K-12 matchmaking program!
Backstory, February 16 is #AnthroDay, a time to celebrate the discipline and share it with the wider world. In the matchmaking program, anthropologists can sign up to present to a classroom of K-12 students on a topic of their choice. I chose #archaeology and #creationStories.
And now, I'm excited.
