The subtext I am reading here is:
because neither pharmaceuticals nor health professionals can earn a lot of money with #psychedelics, it will not happen quickly with approvals.
Why should these help so that many people can live without #antidepressants or the like, or that many years of therapy are not necessary?

Started #duloxetine (#Cymbalta for north Americans lol) today for the 1st time.

Hoping combined with starting + actually taking #Lamotrigine (#Lamictal - mood stabiliser) that it will help my mood.

I’ve been off meds for months so makes sense to start the new #antidepressants now (originally was moving from #sertraline aka #Zoloft but haven’t taken it in ages lol) so might as well give it a go.

The #FDA has approved 20,000+ drugs that can be directly marketed to consumers. 70% of Americans take one or more daily. 24.5% of college students are taking some form of #antidepressants. 45 million prescriptions written for #Adderall in 2020, causing a global shortage. Meanwhile, while nearly half of Americans tried #cannabis at some point, only 13% reported using it in the last 30 days — a far cry from the 70% that have taken an Rx in that same time period.
