Just a little nature nostalgia about my 5th grade teacher's science demonstration and a really cool insect we used to take for granted. I miss the little critters I used to find as a kid growing up in the country.

I reach out for it, and it starts to emit light from a #bioluminescent organ on top of its head. Its feathery #antennae cast shadows that look like a detailed (and annotated) pen-and-ink #drawing of the insect's own head. I get my phone to take a photo, but by then it's stopped emitting any light, and it's become a small spaniel which starts barking at me.
