Middle-aged women often struggle with , lack of energy, brain fog and other symptoms that can be indicators of . Or these could just be signs of low levels. Yet many doctors prescribe for women who are not actually depressed and who may benefit from other treatments. Says one:

"We, as doctors, have been understating the powerful effects of hormones on mental health and have been reaching too readily for antidepressants."

This refers to adult therapy - but is something to think about when diagnosing children/students as well!!!!!!!!!! Dr Judy Willis has been drawing educators' attention to the fact that the ed system often tries to get students diagnosed with , disorder, conduct disorder, oppositional disorder and on and on when it's really the nervous systems' response of fight, flight or freeze to expectations unfit for humans.

I really want to know which neurons are responsible for expectation that when I check my email, my inbox is somehow going to be full of emails telling me that I am bad at my job and people hate me. It's especially bad coming back to check work email after being gone for a couple of weeks.

Work anxiety kicking in again after several years. It's something really hard to control since that, just as the reasons for it, are out of my control.

Breathing, strapping myself for the ride, avoiding toxic gossiping and hoping for the best. 💜

*TITLE: Photobiomodulation for Long COVID (Get Some Sun)

Okay all -- It's early days for figuring out how to help people with
Long COVID.

That said, a bit of promising research is starting to surface.

I'm taking the unusual step of emailing EVERYONE because at this point
many of you with anxiety and depression symptoms may have some Long
COVID (brain fog, sleep issues, the depression or anxiety itself!).

A good write-up about what Long COVID is can be found here.  Yes, you
can had a trivial case of COVID-19 and still get Long COVID symptoms for
days, weeks, months, or years.  Some cases of it are somewhat "mild":
cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/

*The bottom-line of the video is right at the end.  For long COVID:
-- Get outside one hour per day.
-- May cover up if sensitive to sun (near UV rays will get through
clothing anyway)
-- Best if in nature (surrounded by green)
-- Do not look directly at sun (duh)
-- May wear a hat (near UV rays will get through clothing anyway)
-- Sitting in a sunny window no longer good enough (most glass now has
to be certified to block the rays we want)

He also promises to talk about how intermittent fasting may help in a
future video.

medcram.com/
He is Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Disease, Critical
Care, and Sleep Medicine and an Associate Professor at the University of
California, Riverside School of Medicine.  He is also an ER doctor.

Before the pandemic, MedCram mainly seemed to be training for doctors to
pass exams.  Since the start of COVID, Dr. Seheult has done occasional
more accessible videos for the general public on COVID-related topics.

To actually understand why something this simple may help -- and listen
to some research, please watch:

I'm fascinated by scams and fraud, and the lies people tell to sell a service or product. This article on anti-anxiety patches is fascinating.

A psychiatrist and neuroscientist and author of the book “Afraid” explains how works in the and the body and what too much does to the body. It’s a really detailed yet readable deep dive into a topic that’s usually dismissed briefly as the “fight or flight” response. Insights like:

"As digestion is the last priority during a fight-or-flight situation, sympathetic activation slows down your gut and reduces blood flow to your stomach."

Many Autistic and other disabled people like/need to have lots of information when visiting somewhere for the first time

I always check Street View* before going anywhere I haven’t been – and if there are interior photographs, so much the better

So it’s really nice to read about a train operator, Newcastle-based Lumo, offering online 3D tours of their trains: lumo.co.uk/who-we-are/virtual- 💜

Not sure what happened to the end coach though! 😳

* Look Around and Streetside View are alternatives!
