I'm late for #ThrowbackThursday and I continue the #BlackAndWhite streak of this week, with an #IntimateLandscape photo from 10 years ago (Feb 2013).
This is a Brittlebush in a slot canyon in the #AnzaBorrego desert of #SanDiego in #SouthernCalifornia and the photo won 1st place in the Anza Borrego Foundation's photo contest that year, which was quite unexpected I must admit!

We went to #AnzaBorrego in March hoping to catch the famed wildflower #superbloom but got there too early. Pupping out in the #SoCal #desert was fun nonetheless.

Yesterday, I managed to get a desert hike in, before the temperatures rise, later in the week. I went into one of my favorite canyons and made my way up a pass before dropping down into a secluded flat. The wildflowers and shrubs were in a wonderful bloom, everywhere.
This Eriophyllum wallacei aka Wallace's Woolly Daisy had formed a lovely little cluster in the gravel.
