@Otttoz già. #apollo1 ha insegnato alla NASA che in un ambiente pressurizzato con ossgeno puro l'infiammabilità dei materiali aumenta drasticamente. Hanno imparato. E grazie a ciò, per esempio, la riaccensione, al rientro, del computer di #apollo13 andò bene nonostante la grande quantità di condensa che si era formata.

I happened to watch classic 90's Space disaster movie #apollo13 while I've been listening through #themartian by #andyweir #audiobook (the excellent #rcbray version). It's my 2nd reading though I've seen the film many times. Spotted a few nods to Apollo 13 so far including the phrase "Steely eyed missile man" that I probably wouldn't have otherwise, I'm primed now to look for more! #books

Which is probably why, in almost every single episode, there's a handful of #SpaceShuttleColumbia (launch, not reentry) if not actually #Apollo13 level incidents and everyone just accepts this as the way things are supposed to happen in spaceflight.

Working in space entails a fair degree of risk, but having had centuries to perfect the technology...
