Same with the #EU making VAT mandatory to be paid at the customers' juristiction and not the tax avoidance juristiction of the #GAFAMs, which basically killed a lot of superior domestic competition like #AndroidPit's #AppCenter which had way more favourable terms for customers AND developers/publishers!

@BrodieOnLinux I have long wondered if Fedora-RedHat-IBM could have the bandwidth in time and persons to help developers shipping work via Flathub with a Gnome Software/KDE Discover/Flathub combination? I reference Brodie's "Ethically Monetizing FOSS..." episode and point to things like elementary.io #AppCenter as an example of how some can put up easy for consumer-easy for developer economic models that are equitable and respect developer's time and effort. Developers publish to PlayStore and AppStore but also get paid through the stores. Currently, I have to find whatever Patreon page for each of my favorite apps individually, leaving Gnome Software and going to my browser. "Pay-what-you-can" models work if they are easy. Can major distros make doing the right thing a little easier? Can a case be made that this kind of system could drive GPL'd idea generation that can later be picked up by RHEL?

So that's a bit frustrating. I can't download any of the Windows/macOS/Linux Cloudflare WARP client installers because #cloudflare host these installers on Microsoft's #appcenter site which has been down for ... checks https://status.appcenter.ms … over 6 hours now!

There’s now also an Icon Browser app available in #AppCenter where you can see all of the icons shipped with the elementary platform. You can search or view icons by category as well as see what sizes and styles an icon comes in and even get a quick code snippet to use in your app.

Well I finally broke the back of that #legacy #xamarin #forms application and now have it building with API 31 (to make Google happy) and removed the eronourous permission (also to make Google happy).

"All" I need to do now is to check the release build and deploy it to #appcenter so that the testers can give it a spin

Did anyone notice? The #Microsoft #AppCenter SDK hast just been pushed from Preview 1 to Version 5.0.0 two days ago.

So I finshed two articles for a german print magazine featuring #Microsoft #DotNetMaui. One focussing the #MVVM Toolkit and the other Microsoft #AppCenter. Because the issue is scheduled to be published in January 2023 I believe, I sincerely hope that all #SDKs keep working together until then. ;-)

Create a #dotnetmaui App in #microsoft #appcenter, configure the app to properly use the correct AppCenter #sdk and then automagically build your app in Azure DevOps using a build pipeline that not only retrieves the necessary #appsecrets from securely encrypted library variables, but also deploy the finished build artifacts automatically back to AppCenter. Sounds like fun? It does my friends. And it is.

To tell people about how to use #microsoft #appcenter from within #dotnetmaui includes telling them about #azure #devops as well. And also about #continuousintegration and about how to secure appsecrets. This is going to be a huge article...

Slightly considering making a #Mastodon app for both #iOS and #Android... written in #ReactNative and perhaps setup with #AppCenter so it can automatically build from #git once code is merged into master...

Although truth be told I have no idea what the Mastodon APIs are like, so that's the absolute very first hurdle that needs to be cleared 😅
