I think I came across an #AppClip earlier today while at Smash Park in West Des Moines, Iowa. Looks as though the integration was through the Yelp app.

As cool as the feature was when it was initially announced, it’s kind of sad that it’s become more so an abandoned project from #Apple. I thought it would have been great for restaurants and those services that allow you to rent bikes and scooters.

It could have also come in handy at gas stations that would let you pay for gas through the app with  Pay if it was not setup or enabled at the pump, which is similar to what Kum & Go has had over the past few years. Of course, I believe the feature only works if  Pay is allowed for the method of payment. Not this typing in basic card info crap. #AppClips #ApplePay

I think this is the fist time I’ve ever seen an App Clips app on my iPhone — notice the lines around Shazam #AppClips
