For those that use , and are being forced to use , and miss with all your soul “Expand Selection" keybind, I've got some bloody great news for you.

I've just built a POC Xcode Extension that implements it, and it feels amazing.

I keep getting excited (and confused) when I see the team update tickets I reported. I expect more improvements coming soon to Inline Function.

Like, is AppCode dead or isn't it?

It's a curious thing… why is JetBrains continuing to work on refactoring bugs I submitted?

I'm not complaining!

"Will Apple developers remain ignorant of automated refactoring or point-of-call code generation?"

Besides replies and messages to me, I've seen very little reaction online to the death of . But I just found an outpouring of comments on the official announcement: blog.jetbrains.com/appcode/202

Sad to see that JetBrains is discontinuing AppCode.

AppCode isn't perfect, but it's a hell of a lot better than Xcode and VSCode for Swift development.

Sad news that is sunsetting . I started using AppCode a few months ago after becoming frustrated with how slow Xcode Swift autocompletion is when working with a larger project. The ViM support is much better than Xcode, with great autoformatting and support for the other languages I use in mobile projects - JavaScript, HTML and CSS. Swift is a complex language to parse and I guess it just isn’t worth the effort needed given that many iOS devs won’t consider a Java IDE.
