Lacht mich ruhig aus, aber ich kannte #Viriconium von #Harrison bisher nur vom Hörensagen. Leseeindruck "Pastel City": ein einfallsreicher, atmosphärisch dichter und sehr kompetent geschriebener Kurzroman des "Dying Earth"-Genres, der nicht ohne Grund im #AppendixN seinen Platz findet, bietet er doch zahlreiche #pnp-Situationen. Die große Stärke sind sicher die eindrücklichen Bilder. Nervt: Männerlastigkeit, die flachen Figuren überhaupt und der nietzeanische "sinnlos, aber muss ja"-Heroismus.

There isn't much original in my stories. I just take things that aren't normally combined and try to combine them in novel ways.

My #AppendixN for #Shroompunk looks like the Mario and Zelda games, the entire Masters of the Universe franchise, the Final Fantasy games, Conan the Barbarian (All of It), Thongor of Lemuria, Thundarr the Barbarian.
