Ich versuche gerade eines der #Fahrräder meiner Eltern wieder flottzumachen, was an sich schon schwierig ist, weil da fast alles fehlt, dass ich damit an sich fahren und am #GlobalClimateStrike teilnehmen kann. #AppleMaps schlägt mir diese lustige #Route vor. The feature sure looked like a #dike on #satellite view, and a ground check confirmed it. Probably a late #Triassic or early #Jurassic intrusion into #Proterozoic Dedham #Granite, as #Pangea rifted. At Black Rock #Beach, #Hingham, #Massachusetts, #NewEngland #geology USA.

Edit: the #Mapper extension only works in #Safari so when I use #DuckDuckGo or #Firefox for #iOS, websites still default to Google but it’s a start.

It's the map you see in #Facebook (e.g. their marketplace).
You might see a Google map on Grab's front-end app, but it's actually using OSM in the back-end, for computing fares and travel estimates.
Many international and local NGOs, especially those involved in disaster response, often use OSM by default .
It's a fun "game" for some, with #StreetComplete.

At the moment I can say that the speed limits shown are completely sucked out of the fingers (they almost always don’t match). As for the navigation itself, it sometimes makes you turn back where you can not or go on the road that is behind the gate (on the highway the gate that connects the main road with the service road). As a whole it is acceptable, but without revelation,

As a navigation, I recommend the MAPS.ME app. I despise Amazon for privacy reasons and their practices in this area. I would prefer to give my location to Google. It is a pity that Apple Maps are still poor in Poland.
