Well, partner tried to use the nearly 20 year old vacuum cleaner today, and agreed that it is kaput.

Our house is very small and poky, and unsuitable for a robot vac. We have an old stick vac, which has already had one battery replacement.

So we’re shopping for a new vacuum cleaner. Barrel, and probably bagless.

Has to be good at picking up dog hair and my hair from old, grooved, wooden floorboards and be easy to maintain, because the number of hours I have spent cleaning the old rotating brush head on the other vacuum cleaner could have been far more productively spent!

I hate the fact that the only new oven we can buy is a 27” one and the vast majority of those ovens are not what I want. *sigh*

(Why? Why did the prior owners of our house not install a standard 30” oven cabinet? 😭)
