There's a big discount going on for Little Snitch at BundleHunt https://bundlehunt.com/single-deal/little-snitch-5
I've used Little Snitch 4 since 2017. When I get my new mac (waiting for 3nm Apple silicon), I will have to get Little Snitch 5. I paid only ā¬25 back then, it's ā¬69 now or ā¬39 to upgrade.
But I just discovered there's a #FOSS version of an outbound #firewall for Macs called Lulu! https://objective-see.org/products/lulu.html

Do you use an outgoing firewall?

So #AppReview for the macOS App Store complains that I did not provide a purpose text for the location permission.
But I did provide one, of course I did.
macOS just decides not to display the text in the permission prompt on Ventura.
Other idiotic complaints include: Why do you need Address Book permission? Well because UIActivityController crashes with an error if you don't have it and the user has a shared calendar. Documented nowhere btwā¦

I tried Threads and let me tell you, it just makes me fucking love Mastodon more! #antisocial #review #appreview #threads

Our app has been Waiting for Review for the past 48 hours. Has anyone experienced long waiting times like this recently? #ios #iosdev #appreview #appstore #apple

I've received a very dry reply mail "Thank you for providing details about [ā¦] in App Store Connect. Your information has been acceptedā, without any additional information , after re-submitting the same document for the 57341th timeā¦ My apps are back online without any further explanation of what happened or why I keep getting this request "for additional information", even though I just resubmit the same information over and over. #AppStore #AppReview
App Store asks me to āUpload Business Registration or Certificate of Incorporationā for the 3981th time. What's kind of infuriating is that our apps have been pulled offline until our upload get reviewed. Anyone have any ideas why this keeps popping up? I've *literally* uploaded our notary deed of incorporationā¦ #AppStore #Apple #AppReview
Truly bleak to read the 1 star #appreview section and note that the criticisms are primarily tied to paying for what you're using, as if functional and pleasant to use tech just grows on trees?
šfor most loved app while travelling goes to Lumy - a pixel perfect sun tracking app. Beautiful design accompanied with powerful functionality and insightful data. Features are up to date with the latest and great iOS 16 offerings.
Personally Iāve been using it for tracking first / last sunlight, sun direction and golden hour. Love the Apple Watch compilations and countdowns in the iPhone dynamic island work a charm.

Update: six rejections. Made videos clearly showing the process, the buttons, and the results. Answer:
āā¦ but we are not able to continue because we cannot locate the in-app purchases within your app at this time.ā
Any tipps?
(I have now turned the tables and requested screenshots)
#AppReview just outdid itself once again. Already 5 rejections because the stupid IAP dialog in the sandbox only opens after 10 seconds and therefore "The button is broken".
The current attempt with a long description of what the problem is and I can do nothing comes "We can not find the button this time".
Screenshot of the button is directly above ...
One of the things that I like about Tusker (vs Ivory) and why I keep going back to it is because they seem to understand the culture better.
When I send a pic with Ivory, I just add the pic and click post. That's it.
On Tusker however, I have to write a description before the posting option will even become available.
To me, that shows a huge difference in the understanding of the history and culture of Mastodon.

Checking out @icecubesapp@mastodon.social. Itās a pretty decent alternative to the other Mastodon iOS apps. The AI-powered text suggestions feature is neat but not enough to be a differentiating factor, not to mention still a work in progress (the whole app is still in beta after all).
Having the server info feature built in and shown at the start and accessible in settings is pretty handy.
Text selection is still very buggy, basically unusable at this stage.
My quick review, Ice Cubes is a promising iOS client for Mastodon that gives you a few more features than the alternative apps that some people will find useful. Wait for later, more stable versions, or actual product release to avoid irritating bugs.

who is the intended audience for #ivory, really?
Also I feel like i need to dive into their privacy statements. Canāt put my finger on it but because of the emphasis on stats Iām starting to wonder if there is some aggregation of stats going on on their end.
Donāt know if thatās a bad thing. Is that what users want/expect here?
Again, if companies want stats on their content on the fediverse I guess the best way for them to do that is by starting their own instance.
I have finally realized what the being-driven-by-auto-pilot experience reminded me of: #AppReview.
Funnily enough, the sense of dread and disempowerment when faced with the inevitability of being manoeuvred into an existence threatening situation from which you might not be able to escape, by an uncaring and unthinking system, is the exact same whether you're dealing with an AI or the nice folk at App Review, who don't care, are right by fiat & cannot be interacted with on any human level.

Does anybody know if the Apple Review team can launch an iOS app with command line arguments?
I would like to give them access to a `ādemo` mode, so they can try out the app without having real BluOS hardware lying around.
Do they even bother to really try it?

"On one occasion, a member of an app review team contacted Twitter, saying with consternation that he had searched for ā#boobsā in the Twitter app and was presented with ā¦ exactly what youād expect. " ā https://www.nytimes.com/2022/11/18/opinion/twitter-yoel-roth-elon-musk.html
Always good to see that #Apple has their #appreview priorities straight ā can't risk having boobs somewhere between all the subscription scams and the casino games for children.
