Is there an apt “manifest” (or similar mechanism) I can use to declare which packages should be installed on a Debian/Ubuntu machine? I know I can script something myself, but is there built-in tooling for this? Then there are #tarfile versions of some #softwares, which *can* be updated in-software, it depends on individual developers.
Unless folks check #PGPSignatures of #software that they get online though, we don't recommend #downloading software manually.
